Grape Leaves (Vegetable Style) The Levant

This Mediterranean dish was given to us by Hiyam Abu Tarboush

Ingredients

• 2 bunches of parsley

• 3 medium sized tomatoes

• 1 whole onion

• 1 bunch of mints

• 2 cups of medium grain rice

• 2 tablespoons of seven spices

• 1 tablespoon of salt and black pepper

• ½ cup of olive oil

• 1 jar of grape leaves

Step-By-Step Preparation

• Soak the rice for about 30 minutes then drain it. In the meantime, chop up the parsley,

tomatoes, onion, and mint into dice sized.

• When the rice is ready, combine the rice, the vegetables and the spices and oil into one

bowl then mix it well.

• Take the grape leaves out of the jar and wash it well. Take each leave and put 1

tablespoon of the mixture as the filling and wrap it. When finished take a large pot and

arrange the grape leaves in it.

• Fill up water in the pot up to the surface and add additional salt (1 tablespoon).

• On high heat bring the water to a boil, then lower it to medium for an hour and a half

• ENJOY.

Secret Tips

A secret tip that I use is that I put extra virgin olive oil.
