This Moroccan drink was given to us by Sana Hounain
Ingredients
-1 bouquet of fresh mint (thoroughly
washed and dried
-2 tablespoons of loose-leaf gunpowder
tea
-1-liter boiling water
-4 Tablespoons sugar
Step-By-Step Preparation
-In a Moroccan teapot, pour the
tea leaves. Rinse with a bit of
boiled water by turning the teapot
in a circular motion and discard
the rinse. Pour out the rinsing
water in a separate cup. Repeat
this step once more, but this time,
set aside the rinse in a cup. it will
be the essence of the tea. Don’t
discard it.
-Put the fresh mint inside the
teapot, add the sugar the essence
set aside. Fill the teapot boiled
water. Mix everything.
-Simmer the teapot over low heat
until it comes to a boil. Then,
carefully remove it from heat, and
serve hot.
